The true story of Ashley's Animal Academy lies with our owner, Ashley Farren, who built Ashley's Animal Academy from her passion for animals and the people who love them! Below are key events in Ashley's life that led her to building the business that is now Ashley's Animal Academy, LLC.

- Fall 2004- On a day home from school, Ashley sees an episode of "Growing Up" on Animal Planet about a Siberian Lynx and decides she wants to be an "animal behaviorist" when she grows up.
- Summer 2012-Ashley begins working part-time at a pet boarding and training facility learning about the proper husbandry of several domestic animal species and the basics of dog-training. At the same time, she also begins pet-sitting for friends of the family in order to gain more experience in the field. At this point, she falls in love with being around people and their pets!
- Summer 2015- Ashley completes an internship at the Philadelphia Zoo as an Educational Interpreter. While there, she develops a passion for educating the public on animal behavior and for creating empathy for animals through education.
- Fall 2015- Ashley continues at the zoo as an Animal Care intern and helps zookeepers with various captive species in the education program-- animals such as hedgehogs, degus, rats, goats, chickens and birds of prey.
- Spring 2016, Ashley graduates from York College of Pennsylvania with a major in Psychology and minor in Biology, focusing in animal behavior.
- Summer 2016- Ashley begins an apprenticeship at a specialized doggy daycare. She teaches group classes and improves her ability to read, interpret and modify dog behavior.
- Fall 2017- Ashley returns to the Philadelphia Zoo as a part-time Educational Interpreter and continues learning about other animal species.
- Fall 2017- Ashley's Adventures Pet-Sitting Services is established when Ashley decides to make pet-sitting a full-time career and offer behavioral and educational services.
- Fall 2018-Re-branding to Ashley's Animal Academy takes place to emphasize the goal to educate people and animals. The new logo is unveiled.
- Summer 2019- Ashley's Animal Academy shifts from a sole proprietorship to an LLC.
- Winter 2020 -Ashley's Animal Academy begins expanding and hiring new employees in order to serve even more pet owners!
